Courtesy of the local Toyota dealership while the husband’s FR-S is in for the valve spring recall. No driving impressions because our hilly neighborhood got neglected by the plows as usual over the weekend
and it’ll likely be getting returned today.

Could one use that massive grille as a snowplow?

The thought did cross my mind.
That gaping maw looks eager to consume anything that might get in its way.

The new Camry runs off of small children and forest critters fed directly into its grille.

I saw the valve spring recall in a mailer, and was wondering why the FRS is also under the recall like the 2 liter foresters, Imprezas, and Crosstreks. It seems odd that the FRS would have the “weak springs” like the lower powered cars, it’s also not something
that people have been complaining about like oil consumption and head gaskets.

Certainly did
seem odd, given the power and rev limit differences between those models
. I’m wondering if there might have been something *just* off enough when it came to materials/manufacturing during that time period
to warrant the recall, given that supposedly 0.1% of affected vehicles would actually experience failure.
